Microsoft

In the 4 years I spent at Microsoft, I designed products on various teams across different organizations within the company. I first joined in 2016 as an UX designer for Microsoft internal tools where we get requests for new tools on a monthly basis. In 2017, I joined Office 365 where I supported existing tools as well as developed new tools within the Office suite. In 2018, I joined Microsoft Teams and worked on several projects that tailors Teams for industry scenarios, specifically government, small to medium-sized business, and healthcare.

Microsoft Teams

2018 - 2020

As a member of the Verticals team within Teams, I specialized in tailoring Microsoft Teams for unique industry needs. I have worked on several of the branches in the two years I spent there:

  • Led UX design in Teams for Government​

    • Met with users and change management staff members at agencies such as the Belgium Federal Police and France's La Poste 

    • Delegated tasks to another UX designer

  • Led UX design in Teams for Small-Medium-sized Business

    • Conducted user research to identify promising feature areas​

    • Delegated tasks to another UX designer

  • Supported UX design in Teams for Healthcare

    • Designed experiences that support existing Electronic Health Record (EHR)​

  • Produced documentations to be used by designers in the core team

    • e.g. User interviews and research guideline​

  • Collaborated with UX researchers, Core Teams UX designers, UX writers, and other stakeholders to ensure the overall coherence in the Teams UX

Over the two years I spent on this team, I participated in the annual Microsoft Hackathon where my product team and I developed product prototypes within a week. Here are the video demo of the products.

Office 365

2017 - 2018

At Office 365, I worked on UX for several apps under the vast Office suite ecosystem:

  • Led UX design in Outlook Customer Manager across multiple platform

    • Conducted user research​

    • Initiated an experience redesign project and shipped the final product

  • Supported UX design in several Line-of-Business apps

    • Microsoft Connections​

    • Admin Center experience redesign

Microsoft Internal Tools

2016 - 2017

On this team, I worked alongside a team of 20+ software engineers and product managers to design and build new internal tools rapidly.

  • Designed, developed, and iterated on new and existing softwares

    • Worked in low-resource condition as the sole UX designer

  • Developed a Teams-like task management software with my team

    • Won 1st Prize at the 2016 Microsoft Executive Science Fair
